Students complete dog-themed book tournamentLos estudiantes completan el torneo de libros temáticos para perros.

Reading has been “paws-tively” exciting in Ms. Wilcoxen’s 1st grade room this past month. That’s because they read 16 different dog-themed books as part of her annual book tournament. This year, her class read and voted between two different canine stories in Spanish starting in mid March. Popular stories included El Perro Vagabondo and ¡Corre, perro corre! However, The final round was between Harry, el Perrito Sucio and Arturo y el Hegocio de Mascotas with Harry prevailing in the end. Students celebrated this past Thursday by dressing in black and white like the titular dog, creating art work inspired by the winning book, singing and dancing to the song Bow Wow Wow in music class, and sharing the story one more time in class with Max the Comfort Dog.
